Pennant win to Hampton Park

IT was a good week for Hampton Park Bowls Club’s Division A2 Section 8 team with a good VLBA pennant win against Beaumaris on Saturday.
Beaumaris came to Hampton Park, but did not pick up any points.
A seven on the 18th end put Gail Williams, Gwen Clough, Andrew Brandolin and skip Grace Hogan in front and they went on with it to win by 11 shots (28-17).
Conceding only seven ends gave Jim Westwell, Rhonda Diaper, Ellen Smith and skip Heather Naismith a big 27-shot win (40-13).
In a very close game Dot Carr, June Damon, Christine Hendrie and skip Mary Hose left it to the last end to win by one shot (25-24).
Mavis Kelly, Ray Wood, Ann Westwell and skip Geri Graafsma combined well for their massive 37-shot win (45-8).
Scores: Hampton Park 2-138 d Beaumaris 0-62.

The Parkers were outplayed by a better side on their home green at Keysborough.
Ray Leggett, Ann Westwell, Geoff Ampt and skip Graham Slight lost 9 to 28.
Jim Westwell, Ray Wood, Christine Hendrie and skip Geoff Ladner lost 18 to 26.
Sean McDonald, Keith Damon, Lance Davis and skip Neville Hendrie lost 9 to 31.
Hampton Park 0-36 defeated by Cheltenham 12-85.

In the game away at Dandenong RSL/Rec, only one ring was won by Hampton Park.
A seven end loss in the second half proved costly for Sean McDonald, Larry Simpson, Zac Storm and skip Neville Hendrie in their 11 shot loss (17-28).
Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Geoff Ampt and skip Bob Woodfield got up in the last few ends to win by one shot (24-23).
In the shock loss of the day Les Unwin, Ken Cobden, Robert Naismith and skip Graham Slight went down by 22 shots (9-31).
Try as they may Jim Westwell, Jeff Crozier, Lionel Williams and skip Geoff Ladner could not bridge the gap (18-27).
Hampton Park 2-68 defeated by Dandenong RSL/Rec 16-109.

@BT Sub Sport News:DIVISION 7 SECTION 6

The result was close for the home with an overall win by just 5 shots.
It was not a good sign to drop an eight, but Gerry Cox, Greg Pentland, Allan March and skip Andrew Brandolin fought back to win by two shots (27-25).
Ray Leggett, Mark Paton, Keith Damon and skip Robert Nicol lost five end in a row at a crucial stage of the game to go down by 13 shots (17-30).
A five late in the day was enough to give the game to Rob Meany, Alan Wilcock, Bernie Bruggeman and skip Bill Webb by 5 shots (27-22).
A great start enabled Jos Van Hout, Fred McBrian, Paul Barna and skip Rob Woff to win by 11 shots (29-18).
Hampton Park 16-100 d Cheltenham 2-95.

The finals were played during the week with, VLBA Geri Graafsma defeating Heather Naismith and RVBA Neville Hendrie defeating Graham Slight.
