LOCAL school students are in the running to experience the thrill of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Safeway supermarkets will be giving more than 3000 kids the chance of a lifetime to visit the games through the Bringing Kids to the Games initiative.
The supermarket giant is giving free tickets to local schools and will pay for transport to and from the Games venue.
Fountain Gate Safeway is encouraging local principals to apply on behalf of the school and nominate a student who has made an outstanding contribution to the community.
Schools should return their application form to Fountain Gate Safeway by 16 December.
The winning schools will be advised at the start of the 2006 school year.
