Doves dive

DOVETON seniors failed to stop Narre Warren in the second half and went down by 30 points in round 13 on Saturday.
The first half was played at frenetic speed with neither team able to break away and the Doves took a one-point lead into the main break.
The second half saw Narre consistently trouble Doveton with hard running and with key injuries the Doves were unable to keep up.
Justin Hill played a solid four quarters on the ball and up forward, finishing with two goals.
Pete Pullen was vital for the Doves, providing a big target up forward and kicking three crucial second-half goals.
Brad Downe was a rock in defence and played a tough game on Narre’s Lee Clark.

The seconds’ game started with great speed with both sides attacking strongly.
The Doves fell behind in the second quarter and, unable to play catch-up footy, were outscored in each quarter, going down by 52 points but keeping their spot in the top three.
Pete Dye and Rohan Scott were both dangerous up forward and finished with three goals.
Michael Rodriquez played a good game at centre half-forward, giving some strong leads and a target for the Doves out of defence.
Ben Anderson continued his good form with another top game in the ruck and midfielder Michael Davies found form after missing some games and was consistent around the stoppages.

The Doves played second-placed Narre Warren and got off to a great start, keeping it goalless in the first quarter and taking a four-goal lead into half time.
The second half saw the Doves play some lazy and flat football with Narre coming home strongly, but the Doves proved too good with a seven-point win.
James Pattinson played a great game in the ruck and took some vital marks in the last quarter.
Jake Schiavello was dominant early, giving the Doves plenty of drive forward allowing Daniel Zajac to kick three first-half goals. On-baller Ryan Pearson finished with two goals.
