Pools prove their value

LONG hot summer days require a place for people to cool off and Casey has three of them.
While there is no beach in close proximity the city’s three pools allow residents to pass the day in relative coolness.
Casey ARC, Cranbourne Indoor Pool and Doveton Pool in the Park are the places to be when the mercury starts to rise and all offer a range of fun and games.
Mayor Colin Butler says the three local council swimming pools are a great place to go to cool down.
“Casey has three fantastic aquatic facilities where you can go exercise and have lots of fun while keeping cool,” Cr Butler said.
“Casey ARC, Cranbourne Indoor Pool and Doveton Pool in the Park all have family-friendly additions plus plenty of features for teenagers and serious swimmers,” he said.
Doveton Pool in the Park, on Tristania Street, has officially opened for summer fun and features a fully heated outdoor 50m pool as well as waterslides and landscaped lawns ideal for a picnic or barbecue.
The outdoor facility has the special later closing time of 9pm when the temperature exceeds 26 degrees at 6pm.
