LAST Tuesday week’s special ladies’ invitation triples at Narre Warren was supported by 24 teams from Bayswater, Berwick, Cranbourne, Cranbourne RSL, Dandenong Club, Dandenong RSL/Rec, Keysborough, Kooweerup, Mornington, Pakenham, Somerville and Waverley Golf.
Three teams ended the day level on points but, after considering shots up and percentage, the winner was the Mornington team of F. Munro (s), M. Godding, R. Joynson. Runners-up were the Keysborough team of M. Pitcher, M. Mulcock, L. Pensom (s).
The best single-game winners were the Somerville team of M. Blum, P. Mateer, D. Simcock (s).
Wednesday’s nominated open triples winners were R. Naughton, M. Clancy, C. Wilcox (s). Runners-up were L. O’Brien, M. Deering, F. Jarvis (s). Best last-game winners were J. Slavko, R. Pompe, J. Zanon (s).
Saturday’s mixed social bowls winners were J. Zanon, K. Blencowe, G. Manifold (s). Runners-up were R. Naughton, B. Brewster, N. Dickie (s).
Sunday was presentation day of club trophies preceded by a champagne breakfast at 8am and chaired by Frank Booth, RVBA councillor and chairman of RVBA Group 14.
He presented the eight-score pins to I. Brotherton and J. Van Vugt; Super Vet Badges to K. Bertram, P. Geraeds, G. Lowry and J. Moore and Meritorious Service Medallions to R. Naismith, K. Blencowe, L. Egan, I. Adcock, G. Lowry and D. McKenzie.
Ladies’ trophy winners were: 100 up, S. Bell; runner-up N. Dic; pairs, E. Gibb, N. Pugh; runners-up, N. Dickie, M. Horton; Ruby Jenner drawn pairs, J. Naughton, M. Clancy; LVBA champion, N. Pugh; runner-up, J. Naughton.
