Merry time for all as Red Cross unit turns 28

THE Hallam Red Cross Unit celebrated its 28th birthday with a bang recently.
More than 20 people were entertained at the Hallam Community Centre by Dandenong group, the Merry Makers.
Jean Edwards had the honour of cutting the group’s birthday cake as she was also celebrating her own birthday.
Chairperson Josephine Thompson presented Beryl Smith and Wendy Ferguson each with a 10-year service medal for their continued efforts with Red Cross.
Red Cross Calling appreciation certificates were also presented to the collectors who took part in the door knock effort in March.
Secretary Betty Keen said the City of Casey area reached its target of $55,000 during the collection.
