BERWICK Primary School’s ‘Rock Babies’ put on their leotards before heading out to Camberwell for the state final of the Schoolaerobics National Championships this month.
The four-student team received a medal after finishing an impressive third in the competition after making it through the Victorian preliminary finals held at the same venue on Saturday, 19 May.
Five teams from Berwick Primary competed in the preliminary finals.
The ‘Rock Babies’, who competed in a different section to the other four teams from the school, qualified for the next round after a second-place finish.
Teacher Casey Greene said all students, who put in a considerable amount of time and effort practising their routines, were excited to perform in the competition.
“The kids loved it.
“They were so excited to go on stage,” she said.
Ms Greene said a number of grades three and four students will soon start preparing for the Melbourne Spring Challenge in October.
