Show shares the world message

IS IT a bird, is it a plane? No it was the Sustainables.
Last Thursday, the family of four environmental superheroes visited students at Berwick’s Kambrya College to unleash their sustainable fun and ideas on an unsuspecting audience.
Lemony, Solaris, Sam and Hydra Sustainable treated students to a mad-cap performance complete with slapstick, laughs and the odd song and dance routine.
The family talked to students about how they were trying to help save the planet by making some small changes around their home.
Students learnt that doing little things like feeding vegetable peel to worms, saying no to plastic bags and taking four-minute power showers could make a real difference.
The Sustainables visit was part of a state-wide tour which will see them travel to more than 40 schools to spread the sustainability message and encourage children to become environmental champions in their own homes.
The State Government initiative coincides with the Sustainable Household Challenge where people do a few simple actions in and around their home to help conserve energy, water and reduce wastes.
To sign up for the Sustainable Challenge go to www.dse.vic.gov.au/thesustainables.
