TUESDAY’S Victorian Ladies’ Bowls Association (VLBA) Pennant round 10 played at Narre Warren Bowls Club on 4 December against Keysborough (2) saw a big win to Narre Warren 123-68.
J. Fox, B. Baldwin, J. Naughton, E. Gibb (s) won 34-14. J. Bretherton, E. Naismith, M. Horton and S. Bell (s) won 34-18. D. McGann, P. Uren, T. Henneman and K. Murray (s) won 23-19. M. Clancy, W. Haringsma, N. Dickie and E. Arnott (s) won 32-17.
Narre Warren’s Wednesday’s Nominated Open Triples winners were L. O’Brien, M. Deering and F. Jarvis (s). Runners-up were E. Gibb, E, Gibb and I. Brotherton (s). Best last game winners were M. Clancy, P. Uren and C. Wilcox (s).
Thursday’s VLBA Charity Day Mixed Social Bowls and barbecue raised the grand sum of $263 for the Taralye Deaf Children’s School.
Friday’s Nominated Open Triples winners were L. McCurran, D. Smith and R. Johnston (s). Runners-up were D. Noble, H. McCombe and F. Jarvis (s). Best last game winners were C. Christopherson, O. Lambert and R. Beevors (s).
Saturday’s Royal Victorian Bowls Association round 10 Division Four Section Six played at home against Dandenong RSL/Rec saw a loss to Narre Warren 15/93 to 3/87. R. Dixon, L. Willcox, G. Duggan and F. Appleby (s) lost 15-18. G. Miller, J. Hewitt, D. Smith and L. McCurran (s) drew 21-21. P. O’Day, B. Brewster, J. Green and I. Brotherton (s) lost 20-36. S. Robinson, S. Birkett, R. Naismith and G. Manifold (s) won 31-18.
Division Six Section Six played away to Mulgrave CC (7), each winning two rinks, but Narre Warren up 14/106 to 4/92. S. Platt, M. Horton, P. Castricum and J. Henman (s) lost 18-25. L. Klarica, H. McCombe, A. Kidd and J. Hickman (s) won 35-14. M. Graham, C. Heath, J. Sheahan and J. Schwennesen (s) won 33-22. J. Uren, R. Bligh, S. Bray and D. Amezdroz (s) lost 20-31.
Saturday’s social bowls winners were J. Zanon, L. Metaxas and D. Taylor (s). Best last game winners were A. Raile, R. Pigdon and S. Birkett (s).
On Sunday 2 December Narre Warren played host to the Blind Bowlers for their annual opening day. An enjoyable day was had by all.
