Casey talent urged to audition for CD

BUDDING musical artists in Casey are being called upon to audition for the chance to record a CD showcasing unsigned local talent.
Organisers are hoping the CD will feature talent from right across the City of Casey and are encouraging musicians from the Coastal Villages to the Hills and in between to audition.
All styles of music are welcome with participants required to be over the age of 15 and living in Casey.
Auditions will take place at the Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre (DNLC).
The idea to compile the CD follows on from the successful Kool Skools Recording event.
Kool Skools was a collaboration between Doveton-Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal, Doveton Secondary College and local Doveton residents to record and produce a CD.
Event organisers said acts would be selected the week after the auditions.
“Due to the amount of talent that we know is out there we probably won’t be able to record everyone so the judges’ decision is final on who makes it on to the CD,” organisers said.
Sales from the CD will go back into the local Casey community.
Open auditions will take place on Friday 28 September from 7pm at the DNLC, Oak Ave, Doveton.
For more information, or to register your act for the audition, contact 9791 4760.
