CITY of Casey chief executive Mike Tyler said this week that the $10,000 fine imposed on a Berwick restaurant was one of the largest imposed on an individual under food laws.
The City of Casey’s Environmental Health team took the operator of the Berwick Palace Chinese Restaurant, at High Street, to court last month on charges under the Food Act 1984.
On 31 May, Joe Chao, the restaurant’s manager, was fined $10,000 in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court for failing to comply with food laws between March 2005 and January this year.
