Giaan lends Games’ hand

AUSTRALIAN swimming sensation Giaan Rooney visited Berwick last Friday to help Casey residents join in the spirit of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The Olympic and Commonwealth Games gold medallist and leading Australian backstroker was accompanied by Karak, the official Commonwealth Games mascot.
Ms Rooney met with fans, signed autographs and talked about her preparation for the March Games at Castello’s Berwick Springs Hotel as part of the Tabaret “Be A Part Of It” campaign.
The campaign aims to encourage all Victorians to get into the Games’ spirit and everyone who met Ms Rooney went into the running to win two tickets to the event.
