Golfers help out as a matter of course

CASEY golfers will be teeing up for a good cause as part of the annual Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day next week.
The Rotary clubs of Narre Warren and Endeavour Hills have joined together to help make the event a reality at Berwick Montuna Golf Club.
The City of Casey and Bev Marks Beds have jumped on board as major sponsors of the day and both organisations hope the local golfers will show their support and attend.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford said the council was happy to provide support to such a charitable day.
“Rotary clubs do fantastic work in their local communities and the funds raised from the Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day will further assist and benefit residents within the City of Casey,” Cr Bradford said.
Event organiser and Rotarian Roger McGill said there would be several prizes on offer during the day – including for the longest drive, a hole in one and nearest to the pin competitions.
“Players can enjoy a sit-down lunch or dinner after competing over the 18 holes,” Mr McGill said.
The hit off-times are 8am and 1pm on Thursday, 23 November in a shotgun start with Ambrose team events for men and women.
The entry cost is $45 with Berwick Montuna Golf Club members entitled to a $5 discount.
