Hampton Park lights up

IT was another good win in the Electric Light Pennant to Hampton Park Bowls Club when it travelled to Black Rock on Saturday.
It was not the ideal start that Ray Leggett, Keith Damon, Geoff Ampt and skip Neville Hendrie wanted but they stuck to their guns to pull off a seven-shot win (21-14).
Holding a 14-shot lead after eight ends was enough for Jim Westwell, Lance Davis, Christine Hendrie and skip Geoff Ladner to record a 13-shot win (28-15).
Ray Wood, Ann Westwell, Andrew Brandolin and skip Graham Slight came from 11 shots down to finish with a draw (21-21).

Playing at Mulgrave CC on a good green saw the Hampton Park side struggle on two rinks that proved to be its downfall.
Jeff Crozier, Bernie Bruggeman, Lionel Williams and skip Geoff Ladner could only win seven ends in their 28-shot loss (18-46).
The game was even for the first half, but Les Unwin, Vince Kovacic, Ken Cobden and skip Robert Naismith were over run, going down by 12 shots (13-25).
Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Geoff Ampt and skip Bob Woodfield saw their good lead cut down to just two shots (24-22).
Hanging onto their slim lead for the whole day, Sean McDonald, Larry Simpson, Zac Storm and skip Neville Hendrie were happy with the four-shot win (20-16).
