Brigade to boy’s aid

A NARRE Warren South boy suffered head injuries and a fractured ankle after he was in collision with a car last Friday.
The 13-year-old was injured while walking near the corner of Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road and Greaves Road about 4.15pm.
Narre Warren Fire Brigade Lieutenant Paul Hardy said his crew was on the scene within a matter of seconds of the incident occurring.
“We had attended a grass fire in Cranbourne when we were on the way back and we saw that all these cars had just pulled up,” Lt Hardy said.
“We noticed all these people waving at us.”
The crew members immediately called for an ambulance before administering first-aid to the boy.
“There was blood pouring from his head and he had a compound fracture of the ankle.”
He said brigade members assisted the boy for about 10 minutes before he was transported to The Royal Children’s Hospital by ambulance.
