POLICE have urged residents to keep their passports and other items of identification under lock and key following a burglary in Endeavour Hills last week.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox said people should try to keep their passports in either a safe, locked cabinet or tucked away somewhere secure.
He said passports were often stolen with thieves trying to use them as a source of identity.
Last Thursday, an Ardea Court home in Endeavour Hills was targeted with a passport, a video game unit and jewellery taken.
The total value of the items was $3000 and anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact Narre Warren CIU on 9705-3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
