Patrolling police leave raider empty handed

POLICE disturbed a would-be burglar in Narre Warren South last week when the thief activated the home’s alarm.
Officers were on a routine patrol when they heard the alarm sound about 11.30am on Tuesday, 12 September.
They followed the noise to a Norman Place home where they believe they disturbed the suspect in the process of breaking into the home.
Police then discovered that the laundry door of the home had been forced.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox of Narre Warren CIU said officers believed that the alarm and police action had helped interrupt the burglary.
He said the thief had left empty handed.
Anyone with information regarding the break in can contact Detective Senior Constable Peter Lockman on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
