POTENTIAL is a buzz word at Eumemmerring College’s Hallam campus.
The school recently held a special assembly for its departing year 12 students and the visit of two Melbourne Storm rugby league players created some excitement.
And the talents of the students on show almost dwarfed those of the professional athletes in attendance.
Eumemmerring College proudly presented its own sport stars with awards at the assembly – held to not only say goodbye to more than 400 final year students but to congratulate them for their range of impressive achievements.
The sporting talents of many students were celebrated including under-17 Australian soccer player Jamie Cumming and under-17 Australian netball player Kelly Roberts.
The impressive team efforts from the senior boys state championship rugby league side were recognised along with the senior boys cricket team, rugby union team and numerous individual track and field athletes who progressed through to the state final.
Melbourne Storm has forged close ties with the Hallam campus and will look to provide training and guidance to the many promising rugby players who attend the school over the next few years.
But it was not all sport.
Rebecca Clark was honoured for obtaining the prestigious Queen’s Scout award and many other Eumemmerring students were thanked for raising money and awareness by taking part in the 40 Hour Famine.
