A WAYWARD cigarette butt may be to blame for a grass fire in Narre Warren last week.
The fire was confined to a median strip on the Princes Highway and took CFA crews about 20 minutes to control.
A CFA official said several calls were received reporting the fire as the heavy smoke was visible from two to three kilometres away.
Narre Warren, Berwick and Narre Warren North CFA crews all attended to extinguish the flames as well as coordinating traffic around the area.
