Cash for schools

CASEY schools have had a big win from the latest round of Investing In Our Schools funding, announced by the Federal Member for La Trobe Jason Wood last week.
Berwick Lodge Primary School has received $143,707 for a library refurbishment and computer upgrade and Berwick Primary School has been given $142,256 for classroom upgrade, computer upgrade, shade structure, bike shed, play equipment and air-conditioning.
Oatlands Primary School has received $138,052 for the construction of an art room and Timbarra Primary School has been given $150,000 for a new classroom enclosure.
Mr Wood said the round two grants had been capped at $150,000 so local schools have been extremely successful.
“It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get these projects off the ground and the school communities can be very proud of their successful applications.
“I look forward to seeing the improvements in the next few months,” Mr Wood said.
