NARRE Warren North aged care centre Amity at Berwick will receive more than $1000 to install a flagpole in its grounds.
Senator Mitch Fifield announced the $1067 grant this week as part of the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service program.
“Amity is to be congratulated on its initiative and I am pleased the government has been able to support this project,” he said.
“Saluting Their Service encourages community participation in commemorative activities honouring the service and sacrifice of those who have served Australia in wars, conflicts and peace operations.”
The program also funds restorations of community war memorials, displays of wartime memorabilia and commemoration of significant wartime anniversaries.
