CRANBOURNE scored another big win against Glen Waverley in Division One Metro Pennant Bowls and remains in second position behind undefeated leader Clayton.
Cranbourne gave an excellent free-scoring exhibition of its all-round strength, winning by 35 shots and winning three rinks.
Skip Ron Lyfield produced a big game with his team to demoralise the opposition.
The teams of Lyn Quigg and Ray Travica were solid and consistent for big wins.
Scores: Cranbourne 101 d Glen Waverley 66. L. Quigg 28-14, B. Gay 17-20, R. Layfield 34-17, R. Travica 22-15.
Cranbourne (2) was at home to top side Keysborough and produced its best form for the season on an excellent green.
Cranbourne won two rinks and narrowly lost the other two with the rink of Allan Mickle fighting back after a disastrous earlier round.

Cranbourne (3) was at home to neighbour Berwick, finishing strongly to win by nine shots and remain in the top half of the ladder.

Cranbourne (4) dropped an important game to Noble Park by 12 shots, winning only one rink, that of Len Patterson, by 12 shots.

Cranbourne (5) overcame a slow start to overhaul a persistent Coatesville side and finish well to win by 10 shots.
Scores: Cranbourne 108 d Coatesville 98. R. Sorensen 23-22, D. Conroy 29-18, G. Avery 17-31, J. MacInnes 39-27.
Cranbourne (6) had a battle on the Glen Waverley green but came home with a 10-shot overall win, picking up three rinks and tying the fourth to pick up 17 points.
The rinks of Sofio Raiti and Gerry Winterswon by 10 and six shots respectively.

Cranbourne (7) fell two shots short against Cheltenham after leading for most of the day. Cranbourne won two rinks with R. Van Soest’s team ending nine shots up.
Scores: Cheltenham 102 d Cranbourne 100. R. Van Soest 32-23, T. Lennon 28-22, C. Wright 22-30, B. Morrison 18-27.

Cranbourne (2) was too strong for Mentone at home, winning up 22 shots and taking three rinks. The rinks of Thelma Lennon and Dot Harris won by 28 and 15 shots respectively.

The Ladies Saturday Pennant side beat Burden Park by 33 shots, winning both rinks.
