Narre faces a chase

NARRE Warren’s turf-one side faces a 181 run chase against Doveton this week in a game marked by seven dropped catches on Saturday.
Narre Warren was asked to field on a deck that was giving a little assistance to the bowlers.
Pentland started well picking up first two wickets and John Simpson claimed the big wicket of Brad Downe.
Pentland continued and picked up his third as Jarrett replaced Simpson and finished with the excellent figures of eight overs two maidens 0/7.
Les Brown took over where Pentland left off, having instant success.
At tea Doveton was 6/60.
After tea Doveton posted a reasonable total of 196 off 76 overs.
Brown finished with 3/21, but the day belonged to Pentland who bowled 26 overs 6/70.
Narre faced four overs and Dean Williams and Dimitri Dimakopoulos had no trouble on moving the score to 15 for no loss.

Silverton won the toss, elected to bat and wickets fell steadily.
However with some sloppy fielding (catching), Silverton was able to reach 200 off 55 overs.
Bowling honours were shared with Travis Brinkmann (2/32), Bryce Millar (2/37), Michael Sigaras (2/57) and Michael Teeuw (2/67).
Narre Warren had 25 overs with the bat ending the day on 0/55 with Prateek Munjal 27 and Dwayne Thomson 25.

After a slow day in the field, Narre North was 3/96 after 44 overs at the tea break.

However, at the close of play it had made 228.
Best of the bats were Michael Dennis getting his second century for the season with 106, Paul McMahon 47 and Andrew Hyndman 25.

Hosting Narre North, Narre Warren won the toss and elected to bat and started badly with 4/26 off 26 overs.
Frank Welburn and Leigh Andrews came together and consolidated the innings .
After tea the pair dominated the attack and their partnership of 213 was broken in the 55 over when Andrews was out for a brilliant 110, with the score on 239.
Welburn continued attacking, scoring quick runs with James Camilleri until he was finally out for a sensational 130.
At the close of play Narre Warren was 9/347 with Camilleri 51 not out.

Winning the toss and electing to bat against Berwick, Narre Warren lost its first wicket in the ninth over when the score was 43.
The batsmen started to get on top being 2/150 after 20 overs.
After having a mini collapse losing two wickets in three overs, the team got back on track and at closure had reached 6/235 after 44 overs.
Best of the bats were Dylan Quirk 42 not out, Ben Carter 27 not out, Jack Spreckly 25 not out, Brett Healey 25 not out, Shannon Marrell 23 not out and Jayden Arter 15.

Narre bowled and fielded well restricting Doveton to 115 after 24 overs with eight wicket takers, Callum Spencer (1/8), Brendan Marrell (2/8), Caleb Johnston (2/15), Jake Robinson (1/6), Hamish West (1/11), Billy Spreckley (1/8), Travis Johnston (2/8) and Matthew Bartlett (1/5).
In reply Narre only lost one wicket to reach 95 after its 24 overs.

HSD was 7/54 after 16 overs, but a last-wicket partnership saw it take the points finally finishing with 8/78 from 20 overs.
