Students shine with talent

LOCAL students shone in more ways than one during a talent quest at Westfield Fountain Gate last week.
The Shine for Your School event involved seven primary schools from across the Casey-Cardinia region.
Schools produced an array of high-calibre performances that included jazz, sport aerobics, singing, dancing as well as Heritage College’s 23-piece violin group.
Fox FM radio presenter Jo Stanley was a guest judge and was keen to cast her creative eye over the performances from all schools.
Students from Strathaird Primary School, Hillcrest Christian College, Fountain Gate Primary School and Narre Warren North Primary School all performed with grace and were cheered on by family and friends.
Longwarry Primary School won the main prize with 17 dance students teaming up to do the Michael Jackson classic Thriller. The school received an Angus and Robertson book voucher as well as 4000 points for their school.
Strathaird Primary School student Luke McConnel was ranked second for his jazz dance routine.
He also received a book voucher and 3000 points for his school.
