‘Trivia’ trip for young athletes

SOME of Casey’s young athletes need some public help in their quest to compete in the USA.
The group of 40 is heading across the Pacific to take part in the James B Connolly Games in June, but need to raise more funds.
The touring party is organising a range of activities, including a trivia night, to help raise money for the trip.
The athletes will travel to the USA to compete in sports they love, as well as experience another culture by living with an American host family.
Casey mayor Janet Halsall described The James B Connolly Games as an important sporting and cultural exchange program with Sister City, Springfield Ohio.
The games follow on from the successful Edwin Flack Games hosted by the City of Casey in 2006.
The trivia night is being held on Saturday, 15 March at 6.30pm at the Balla Balla Centre, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East.
The mayor said tickets cost $10 per person and tables seated eight to 10 people.
“So get a group of friends together, or come along and join another table,” she said.
“There will be auctions on the night, as well as prizes and lots of fun.”
