A HORSE was killed after being hit by a car in Narre Warren East on Friday.
Police said the horse was hit about 8.45pm after walking onto Belgrave-Hallam Road. The driver of the Toyota Hiace van was not injured. The horse died at the scene.
Only an hour earlier, two police officers were called out to Fleetwood Drive in Narre Warren to round up a cow that had escaped from its paddock.
The officers were able to move the escapee back inside and secure the paddock.
