Park gets set for pennant

TWO Hampton Park Bowls Club teams travelled to Keysborough to play their last practice games before pennant starts in October.
Competition was keen, but the strong winds proved to be a more difficult opponent than the opposition players.
On rink 6 the lead changed nine times during the course of the game. A five on the last end saw the visitors get up by 4 shots.
The Parkers on rink seven scored 11 shots to two over the last seven ends to sneak in by two shots.
After a poor start by the Hampton Park team on rink eight, it was only able to hold the opposition in the second half to go down by 13 shots.
It was another poor start on rink nine, but after the break, it only dropped two ends to finish 14 shots up.
The division seven team found things a little tougher and would have gained valuable experience from the outing.
Dropping a five near the end of the game, the team on rink 10 went down by six shots.
The Parkers kept their nose in front all day on rink 11 to finish five shots up.
On rink 12, the Keysborough team pulled away over the last 12 ends to win by 13 shots. In a close game to end 20, a five and a four by Keysborough put it over the line by eight shots on rink 13.

The Parkers won the Challenge Shield back by 18 shots.
