Three face hotel bash charge

THREE men are set to face criminal charges following the bashing of a Narre Warren South man last month.
Detective Senior Constable Brian Whitehead of Narre Warren CIU said a 21-year-old from Narre Warren, a 22-year-old from Hallam, and a 19-year-old Berwick man would be charged by summons in relation to the March 30 incident.
As previously reported in the News, 20-year-old Steven Grant suffered a major stroke following the altercation outside the Fountain Gate Hotel.
He underwent neurosurgery to alleviate blood clots to the brain and spent time in a coma.
His mother Karen Grant told the News (Thursday 6 April) that it appeared that the right side of her son’s body and his brain had been permanently affected by the stroke.
Det Sen Const Brian Whitehead said the trio would now be charged via summons with affray and intentionally causing serious injury and would face court at a later date.
