Wild, wild West times at church

MORE than 400 local children turned up each day during a week of fun at the Berwick Holiday Adventures recently.
The Wild, Wild West theme was a hit with the youngsters as Sheriff Chris P. Bacon, Miss April May and Officer Easton West entertained the crowd with their spectacular stage show.
Pastor Dave Marrett, who headed up the program on behalf of the Berwick Church of Christ for the third year, said it was an amazing effort from all involved.
“We had an average of over 400 (children) a day attend. The community has been the ones that have responded really well,” he said.
He said it took a team of 147 volunteers, including actors, an administration team and caterers, to put the week-long event on show.
“The generosity of quite a lot of local businesses and government really helped us out.”
