Flute, phone stolen from doorstep

THIEVES hit a bad note last week when they stole a $2500 flute from a Berwick home.
Police said a Norham Court resident left the musical instrument and his mobile phone on the doorstep last Friday when he put the items on the ground to open his front door.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox of Narre Warren CIU said the man remembered about half an hour later he had forgotten to bring the items inside.
He then went to the front door and discovered his belongings were gone.
The Trevor James Cantabile flute is silver in colour. The Nokia phone was worth an estimated $200.
Det Sen Sgt Wilcox said the thefts occurred between 10am and 10.30am last Friday.
