Lifeguard resuscitates two-year-old girl

A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl was brought back to life by lifeguards at the Casey Aquatic Centre in Narre Warren after her father found her lying at the bottom of the wave pool about 7pm on Friday.
The girl’s father then rushed her to the nearest lifeguard who brought her back to life with the help of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Casey Aquatic Centre assistant manager Pam Boavida said that while it was an unfortunate incident, she was pleased with the professionalism of the staff on duty.
“Our lifeguard team leader was on the deck and with the help of the duty manager was able to resuscitate the girl,” Ms Boavida said. “Other staff evacuated the premises.”
Once the girl was resuscitated she was taken to the Monash Medical Centre in a stable condition where she stayed overnight.
The girl was released from hospital on Saturday morning.
