Mob attacks security guards

TWO Endeavour Hills security guards were attacked by more than 10 youths on Tuesday night, with one guard sustaining a serious eye injury.
Police are appealing for public help following the assault at the Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre.
Shortly after 6.30pm police said the two security guards were called to the Safeway supermarket to remove two young men who were causing trouble.
As the two security guards escorted the youths to the centre’s lower car park via the escalator, a group of about 10 other youths approached them.
Police said the group then attacked the two guards, one of which sustained a serious injury to his eye and was later taken to the Dandenong Hospital for treatment.
Endeavour Hills Centre Management said it was helping police with their investigation and encouraged community members to assist the police by providing officers with any information that might be relevant.
In a statement, the centre said: “As the matter is now under police investigation, Endeavour Hills Centre Management staff are unable to comment further or release additional details about the incident.”
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
