RESIDENTS have been invited to come and have a say about the future of Endeavour Hills.
Tonight (Thursday) the City of Casey is preparing a structure plan for the Endeavour Hills town centre and representatives from the council, the community and local agencies will be participating in a workshop to develop the plan.
Residents have been invited to an open session to contribute their ideas on what they’d like to see in Endeavour Hills.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford said the plan would look at the whole centre – not just the shopping centre – so this would include the leisure centre, library, Neighbourhood House and surrounding car parking areas.
“The main items we are looking at are land use, urban design, transport and pedestrian movement, but residents may have other important issues they would like to raise,” he said.
The purpose of the structure plan is to provide a plan for:
– Ultimately developing the shopping centre into a town centre and a civic focus for the Endeavour Hills community; and
– Linking the shopping centre with surrounding uses such as the library, leisure centre, neighbourhood house, and The Terrace shops.
The structure plan will also look at ways in which the centre can be better linked with its surrounding neighbourhood through a network of walking and cycling paths, better bus routes and access by car.
The meeting runs from 5.30pm to 7pm at Shop 43 in the Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre.
