All for a good cause

By Callan Date
A NARRE Warren South family is set to lose their locks in support of their daughter and sister.
The Walker family is rallying around two-year-old Abby as she continues to courageously battle acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
Abby’s parents, Nicola and Jim Walker, will be shaving their heads along with brothers Nick and Dylan as part of the World’s Greatest Shave day.
Also supporting the Walker family is Robbie Lelliott who has fought his own leukaemia battles and will shave his head.
The clipping and colouring of hair is all planned as part of a fun filled event at Strathaird Reserve in Narre Warren South this Sunday.
Nicola Walker said she was struggling to comprehend the support offered from the entire community.
“Everyone has been marvellous,” Ms Walker said.
“It’s really nice to know people are looking out for you.
“People have just been going out of their way to help us in anyway they can.”
Ms Walker said her daughter has been amazingly brave since being diagnosed with ALL last year.
“She is a fighter. She is in remission at the moment and doing great.”
Ms Walker said the Narre South Lions Junior Football Club, where Nick and Dylan play, have been great in offering its support.
Lyndall Lord is organising the day and is encouraging as many people as possible to attend.
Anyone will be able to have the hair temporally coloured on the day for a $5 donation while those who are brave enough can get their head shaved.
A range of prizes will also be on offer through a major raffle with all money raised going towards leukaemia research.
For all the fun and to help out a good cause head to Strathaird Reserve, Community Parade, in Narre Warren South from 12.30pm on Sunday.
