Classic raiders

THIEVES with an eye for classic cars raided the garage of a Doveton house and cruised away with valuable parts from two vintage vehicles.
Several tools were also stolen from the Nigra Street property some time between 4pm last Thursday and 11.20am the next day.
Police said the thieves entered the backyard and removed several engine parts from a 1972 Holden Torana Coupe before making their way into an adjoining shed and taking parts from a red and black 1970 Ford XW racing car.
A steering wheel, amplifier, manifolds and a rocker cover were among the items stolen that were valued at $5500.
Narre Warren Detective Sergeant Ian Wilcox believed those responsible probably knew the vehicles were on the property at the time.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Geskin on 9705 3111.
