Diverse cultures on show

AUSTRALIA Day is one of the major highlights of the year for all involved at the Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal (DENR) events group.
Head to Betula Reserve, Doveton, on 26 January to travel the world through food, entertainment and sport on the day that celebrates the nation.
The action will take place from 11am to 3pm with a range of fun activities for everyone to enjoy including a live concert, multicultural food stalls, market stalls, a showerhead exchange (just bring your old showerhead and a water bill) sporting workshops and demonstrations and much more.
The event, which is being supported by the City of Casey, will focus on celebrating the diverse cultures that make up the local community and are part of Australia today.
Federal MP Anthony Byrne will be presenting the Holt Australia Day Awards in a ceremony guaranteed to recognise the achievements of people in our diverse community.
There will be fantastic activities for the kids, including art and craft activities, indigenous painting workshops, face painting and jumping castle.
The event is smoke and alcohol free and all are encouraged to BYO picnics, rugs and chairs.
Entry is free to the event which will take place at Betula Reserve, Kidds Road, Doveton.
