Free help for big event

CASEY’S community groups stage many excellent events throughout the year and they now have the chance to make them even better.
The City of Casey is holding a free event-planning seminar next Wednesday, 27 June, at 6.30pm at the council’s chamber.
The program has been designed to assist community groups and interested residents in staging successful events.
Casey manager of arts and leisure Robyn Bowen is encouraging those involved in staging events to attend this seminar and learn about the fundamentals of event planning, as well as the statutory and legal obligations involved.
“Anyone can run a great community event if they have undertaken some appropriate planning,” she said.
“The upcoming seminar will help simplify the process and provide tips and tricks to ensure your next event is a great success,” Ms Bowen said.
The forum will be conducted by an experienced event planner with opportunities for questions and discussion with a light supper is also provided.
Topics covered will include the importance of planning, traffic management, waste management, working with council, risk management, emergency and safety plans.
Places are limited and bookings are essential. To book or for more information contact Casey events officer Karena Johnson on 9705 5200.
