Funds shave is close

CASEY residents have been encouraged to get involved and shave or colour their hair this Saturday to help raise funds for cancer.
From noon The Shaver Shop at Westfield Fountain Gate, is hosting a public shave event for people who want to take part in the World’s Greatest Shave.
Taking place today, tomorrow and Saturday, World’s Greatest Shave is one of Australia’s biggest fundraising events and about 100,000 Australians are expected to participate.
The event helps raise funds for patients with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders and their families.
The Shaver Shop is the major sponsor of the appeal and everyone has been invited to take part.
Leukaemias, lymphomas and myeloma are devastating blood cancers. About 60 per cent of adults and 20 per cent of children do not survive leukaemia and lymphoma is now the sixth most common cancer in Australia.
The Leukaemia Foundation improves patients’ quality of life through personalised and practical care. This includes providing a “home away from home” near major treatment centres, counselling, educational programs, transport to and from hospital and free practical assistance.
To register for the World’s Greatest Shave, phone 1800 500 088 or register online at www.worldsgreatestshave.com.
The shaving runs from noon to 3pm on Saturday in the Centre Court located on level one at Westfield Fountain Gate.
