Murals show a lot of character

THE wonderful world of make believe came to life in Endeavour Hills last week when young students recreated some of their favourite children’s tales.
On Wednesday 6 September, Mossgiel Park Primary School launched its inaugural art gallery, with each class unveiling its own mural or display.
All exhibits carried a book theme and paid tribute to many well-known children’s authors including Mem Fox, Dr Seuss and Roald Dahl.
Grade four teacher Caroline McInerney said the art gallery had been a huge success with many parents and friends coming to see the colorful works.
Some classrooms also made storyboards or featured their favourite books in the murals.
All students also worked together to create a German mural.
Ms McInerney said she expected the art gallery to become an annual event to coincide with Book Week.
She said all of the children had been extremely proud of their work.
Ms McInerney said students also acted as curators and conducted guided tours of their exhibits, reading books and explaining their displays to all art goers.
“It is something I would think we would definitely do again.
“It has been a huge success,” she said.
