FORGET Picasso – a Berwick school has created its own piece of ‘mooving’ artwork after milking a statewide competition.
Brentwood Park Primary School was one of 20 Victorian primary schools to win a life-sized fibreglass cow after entering Dairy Australia’s Decorate a Cow competition.
The cow now sports a ‘healthy dairy’ make-over after being decorated by many of the school’s students.
Ingrid, as the cow is affectionately called, will now be carted off to the Royal Melbourne Show, where she will graze from 21 September to 1 October.
She is sure to make a real impression on showgoers with her lime green and hot pink body, painted-on shoes and three-dimensional hair.
Art teacher Nadean Griffin said students were excited about their creation and did not want to give Ingrid back to the Melbourne Show.
The school entered 20 slogans into the competition, which received scores of entries across regional centres and metropolitan Melbourne.
Brentwood Park’s winning slogan was ‘Dairy good for cheesy treats and for the bones in your feet.’
The school that produces the most moving work of art will win a $1000 Myer voucher to spend on new equipment for their canteen or school.
The winning cow will be announced at the Royal Melbourne Show on World School Milk Day, 27 September, in the Town Square at 1.30pm.
