School was worth the wait

THE wait is finally over at Harkaway Primary School with students moving into their brand new classrooms.
After more than four years of campaigning, the King Road school has undergone more than $2 million worth of developments that school principal Fred Hess has been quick to welcome.
The new facilities include general purpose classrooms, a library, staff administration room, a first aid room and staff and student toilets.
Mr Hess said the changes greatly complemented the school’s educational philosophy and the 200 students were absolutely rapt with the new purpose built facilities.
He said the 130-year-old school had also been able to retain an original classroom during the redevelopments and maintain the history of the school.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan visited the school on Monday to inspect the new facilities.
“These wonderful facilities will give students at the school an excellent learning environment.
“This is a very exciting project for the school and has increased opportunities for students to learn to their full potential,” he said.
Mr Donnellan said the new facilities were a tremendous boost for the school and would help ensure high standards of education for both present and future students.
