A FEDERAL election may be just around the corner, but an election of a different kind had Eumemmerring College students casting their vote last week.
The election was held to elect 36 Fountain Gate campus students to the Young Leaders Program and was run by officials from the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
More than 800 students took to the polls to vote for their chosen leaders – with one student from each class elected to the program.
Those elected will form part of a committee that will make decisions on behalf of the wider student body and assist members of the community in a variety of ways.
