POLICE will be making their presence felt in Casey next weekend with the launch of a new police operation.
Casey Confidence will see local police flood the city’s streets on Friday night and Saturday with members focusing on anti-social behaviour, traffic offences and criminal activity.
Acting Inspector Mike Jenkins said the operation would finish in the early hours of Sunday, 24 September and said police would be adopting a zero-tolerance stance and have a highly visible presence at all times of the day.
He said the operation was timely as the weather became warmer and people started to hold more parties, and members were keen to promote their PartySafe register.
The initiative will also coincide with the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League Casey-Cardinia League grand final and Acting Insp Jenkins said police would have a strong presence at the match to ensure football crowds were behaving appropriately.
Acting Insp Jenkins said police would be targeting drink drivers, speeding motorists, and any hoon behaviour such as burnouts or other dangerous acts throughout the operation, as well as other criminal offences.
