DOVETON seniors may have picked a young and inexperienced team for its round-10 visit to Dingley, but it still dominated with a 120-point win.
In windy conditions the Doves started strongly, kicking eight goals to none in the first quarter and holding an eight-goal lead at half time.
In the second half, the Doves again dominated using the wind to their advantage and kicking 10 goals to Dingley’s one.
Doveton finished slowly, but had already done the hard work. Clint Wilson played well in the ruck and as a big, strong target up forward. He finished with three goals with Michael Henry and David George both kicking four.
Pete Pullen took his chance in the ones, playing a great game at centre half-back. Glen Manson was back from Frankston for the weekend and provided the Doves with a big marking forward alongside Brown and Wilson.
Scores: Doveton 23.20.158 d Dingley 5.6.36.

Kicking with the wind, the Doves held Dingley scoreless and played some excellent football, winning by 173 points, their biggest win for the year.
Ben Anderson was best for the Doves, playing in the ruck and in a different role in defence. He was well aided by on-ballers Scott Musgrove and William Lamarca, who both ran hard for four quarters and proved too fit and strong for the Dingley midfield.
Up forward Pete Dye was the main man with six goals, along with surprise forward Andy Downe who kicked four.
Scores: Doveton 26.31.187 d Dingley 2.2.14.
