Doveton fails in run chase

DOVETON’S turf-one side failed in its run chase against Keysborough on Saturday, losing by 32 runs.
Keysborough won the toss and elected to bat and was all out for 245 off 80 overs. Brad Downe took 4/70.
Doveton then batted and made 213 in 69 overs. Andre Peters made 53, Ben Baxter made 32, and Scott Branden hit up 39.
TURF FOUR
Doveton played at home against Keysborough, which won the toss and sent Doveton in to bat and make 163 off 55 overs.
Under-17 player Troy Jordan made 20, Mark Mott made 34 and Simon Reeves top scored with 35.
Keysborough had 25 overs to face and was 9/48 overnight and was all out for 57 off 30 overs.
Troy Vugs took 3/19, Sekander Ali took 2/19 and Shaun Weir picked up 2/1.
Keysborough was forced to follow on and was dismissed for 82 in 36 overs.
Daniel Raines took 4/21 and Matthew Miller took 4/19. Doveton won outright by an innings and 24 runs.
A GRADE
Doveton played Sandown Park at home that won the toss and elected to field.
Doveton faced 71 overs and was all out for 220. Warren Ladgrove top scored with 53, Lindsay Vurlow made 36 and Keith Dawson was not out on 43.
Sandown was then dismissed for 88 off 54 overs. Rod Bowman took 4/7 and Vinny Daffy took 3/20. Doveton won by 132 runs.
E GRADE
Doveton played away against Keysborough that won the toss, batted and was all out for 214 off 68 overs.
Will Bentley took 3/76 and Danny Vurlow took 3/57.
Doveton was then dismissed for 119 in 39 overs. Max Weston made 57.
Doveton was forced to follow on and was 8/128 off 37 overs when play ended. Will Bentley made 54.
Keysborough won by 95 runs on first innings.

Playing away against Cranbourne on turf, Doveton batted first and was all out for 40. Matt Stapleton made 23.
Cranbourne then batted and declared at 9/133. Shannon Roscoe took 3/18 and Steve Henwood took 3/27.
Doveton batted again and was all out for 78. Josh Viney made 22.
Doveton lost outright by an innings and 15 runs.
UNDER 15
Doveton played at home against Cranbourne Gold, batted first and made 103 off 37 overs. Darcy Kilpatrick hit four sixes in his 28 and Travis Hendy made 25.
Cranbourne then made 133. Darcy Kilpatrick took 7/18.
Cranbourne Gold won by 30 runs.
UNDER 13
Playing away against North Dandenong, Doveton batted first and was out for 76 off 39 overs. Manikus Gomes made 15 and Shafraz Ali made 14.
North Dandenong faced one over and was 0/3 overnight.
Day two was washed out and the match was drawn.
