Hampton Park ends season on a high

HAMPTON Park Bowls Club’s RVBA division four, section six team went to Keysborough for its last game of the season and had a good result, winning on three rinks.
In a game that had both teams level on 18 shots with one end to play, Gerry Cox, Larry Simpson, Zak Storm and skip Neville Hendrie scored three shots on the last end to win (21-18).
Jim Westwell, Jeff Crozier, Lionel Williams and skip Geoff Ladner let the cat out of the bag when they dropped three fives during the game to go down by nine shots (22-31).
It was a shaky finish, but Les Unwin, Sean McDonald, Robert Naismith and skip Graham Slight hung on to win by one shot (19-18).
Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Geoff Ampt and skip Bob Woodfield controlled their game from the start to win by 19 shots (34-15).

The Parkers enjoyed a good win against Boronia, with success on all rinks.
Keith McCarthy, Greg Pentland, Bernie Bruggeman and skip Andrew Brandolin teamed well to win by 22 shots (36-14).
In a very tight game, Ray Leggett, Bob Meany, Keith Damon and skip Bob Nicol missed the win by just one shot (21-22).
Coming from 10 shots down, Allan Unwin, Alan Wilcock, Allan March and skip Bill Webb won the last nine ends to win by 13 shots (34-21).
This was another game where Fred McBrian, Los Van Hout, Paul Barna and skip Rob Woff all put in to win by 17 shots (36-19).
Hampton Park 16-127 d Boronia 2-76.

It was a disappointing night for the Parkers being beaten on their home night green.
