Snap for Africa

A CHARITY photographic exhibition is being held at the Berwick Anglican Church to support a small African community.
The Celebration of Creation 2007 exhibition is a fundraiser for the Iyde community in Nigeria.
The entry to exhibition is open to all ages.
Sarah Miller and her son Nick have chosen to enter this year’s event.
Ms Miller said they were happy to enter and had chosen photos from their travel adventures as entries.
“Nick is entering a photo he took while we were on holiday in Tasmania.
“It is a good cause, which we thought was worth supporting,” Ms Miller said.
All funds from the event will assist the Iyde community in Nigeria, the money being directed to the community through the Iyde church.
Categories for the exhibition include Wilderness – landcapes, flora, fauna; In His Image – people; Tamed World – architecture and places; Creatures – animals; and Junior photographer.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Tuesday, 20 February from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday, 24 February from noon to 5pm.
Entry to the exhibition is by gold coin donation.
The winning entries are chosen by a people’s choice vote, where a $1 vote is made for the charity to help select the best picture.
Visitors to the exhibition also have the opportunity to buy the photographs which are shown.
The 2006 Celebration Creation exhibition collected more than $1000 for the Rwanda Hope charity.
More information about the exhibition can be obtained by contacting event coordinator Marie Geritz on 0431 890 489.
