THE Public Transport Users Association (PTUA) has formed a south-east branch to focus on the continued public transport neglect and dissatisfaction in Casey and surrounding suburbs.
PTUA spokesperson Alex Makin said he was proud to announce the formation of the south-eastern branch, to ensure local input and lobbying of public transport issues in the area.
“The recent rejection by MPs towards providing evening and Sunday bus services for Melbourne’s southeast demonstrates just how dire the public transport neglect is within Melbourne’s southeast and how unwilling current MPs are in addressing this.”
Mr Makin urged all interested residents to contact the PTUA on 9650 7898 to become part of the south-east branch.Mr Makin said the formation of a southeast branch of the Public Transport Users Association (PTUA) followed the successful introduction of the outer-eastern PTUA branch in 2004.
“The PTUA has adopted to form these local branches to ensure that local residents can be directly involved in the lobbying of State Government MPs and local councils.
“With rising petrol prices people in Melbourne’s southeast are incredibly frustrated over the plethora of excuses and general inaction towards improving public transport,” he said.
Mr Makin urged all interested residents to contact the PTUA on 9650 7898 to become part of our southeast branch.
