Archbishop shops for feedback

By Melissa Grant
RESIDENTS have the chance to meet the Anglican Archbishop when he resumes his Prayer4Melbourne quest at Fountain Gate shopping centre tomorrow ( Friday).
The Archbishop of the Melbourne Anglican Church, Dr Philip Freier, began his quest at Federation Square last Thursday, meeting people to discuss their concerns and hopes for Melbourne.
New to the city, the Archbishop is keen to learn about its people and its culture.
“It is important as a Christian leader to be better informed about the place that I’m in so that I can pray for the people and the community that I am now a part of,” he said.
During his quest, he will be asking people what encourages them, what concerns them or weighs them down, and if these things were to be framed into a prayer, what would it look like?
“This quest is an extraordinary privilege for me,” he said.
“To ask people to share their heart’s longings is a big deal,” he said.
At the conclusion of his two-month journey, the Archbishop plans to use the things that have been shared with him to form a collective prayer for Melbourne.
The Archbishop will be at Fountain Gate shopping centre at 11am tomorrow.
He will also visit Dandenong Plaza later tomorrow afternoon.
