THE City of Casey continues to be a boom area for the construction of domestic and commercial properties.
The latest Building Commission data shows building permit activity for the financial year to 30 June 2007 has totalled a record $16.7 billion, up from the $15.6 billion recorded in 2005-06.
Casey was ranked as the third highest total of building permits issued in 2006-07 with $679 million.
This figure was up 4 per cent on the previous year.
Planning Minister Justin Madden said the result demonstrated the high level of activity in Victoria’s building industry and the State’s booming growth.
